We are saying good-bye to Jerusalem and a big welcome to Geneva, who will host the upcoming 103rd edition of Veritons Song Contest,
after  Switzerland has won thanks to the song "Empire" by 77 Bombay Street. It scored 145 points.

77 Bombay Street is a Swiss folk rock musical group that was formed in 2008 in Scharans, canton Graubünden. It consists of four brothers Matt, Joe, Simri-Ramon and Esra Buchlis.

"Empire" is also the official song for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships St. Moritz 2017.

This is Switzerland's second win, after Denisa managed to bring victory to this Central European country last year.

The Runner-up of Jerusalem 102 is  Australia, with the song "Paradise" by Josef Salvat. The song received 135 points.

Salvat had his first international success after the release of his EP In Your Prime when Sony picked his cover of Rihanna's song "Diamonds" (which was originaly writen by singer, song writer and art performer Sia) for promotion of Sony's new 4K Ultra HD television screen.

To conclude the top 3, once again  Colombia manages to climb the tops, this time with the help of "Chantaje" a worldwide hit by Shakira and...you guessed it, Maluma!

"Chantaje" is a Latin pop and reggaeton song. Lyrically, the song was considered a "battle of the sexes", where the male protagonist is not sure where he stands with his lover, and the female protagonist does not exactly clear things up. Critics commended the track for the chemistry between Shakira and Maluma.

The song received 132 points.

Congratulations to all of you - Switzerland, Australia and Colombia!

The Swiss Television SRG SSR has already started to prepare the city of Geneva for the upcoming edition. The current head of delegation will be helped by the former, Denisa to host the edition.
