A large number of countries around the world were represented in this contest and an incredible diversity in music was shown. Singapore joined the Asian League of winners tonight, when they scored their first win right on debut, with the song "Take Heart" by The Sam Willows. The song received 144 points.

The Sam Willows is a four member Singaporean pop band formed in May 2012. The group consists of siblings Narelle and Benjamin Kheng, together with their friends Sandra Riley Tang and Jonathan Chua. The quartet’s self-titled freshman EP was released on 27 October 2012 and earned the top 30 most downloaded album of 2013 and 2014 on iTunes.

The band was nominated for MTV Asia's Best Southeast Asian Act for the wildcard round in 2014, as well as Best Southeast Asian Act for the MTV EMA's in 2015.

The Sam Willows are currently the most subscribed music band channel on Youtube in Singapore with more than 46000 subscribers.

This edition's runner-up was the  United States, represented by Beyoncé, Arrow Benjamin and Naughty Boy with the worldwide hit "Runnin' (Lose It All)". The song peaked at number four on the UK Singles Chart and number one on the Scottish Singles Chart on October 16, 2015. It was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for sales of 400,000 copies.In the United States, the single peaked at number 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart issue dated October 10, 2015. "Runnin'" received 133 points, 11 less than the winner. 

To everyone's surprise (even to the Portuguese delegate),  Portugal received 117 points and climbed to the third position, leaving Canada and Italy behind. The Iberian country was represented by Catarina Pereira with the song "Mea Culpa". Catarina tried her chances in Festival da Canção 2014, but she finished on 2nd place.

Singapore already opened their fancy airlines to every country that participated in Yerevan and they are preparing one of the most outstanding shows ever, according to the Singaporean PM Lee Hsien Loong.
